The internet is a wonderful thing, it helps you figure out where your favorite rock bands are playing, how big is the world’s biggest ball of twine, and it connects you with your love. Let me explain: Emily and I met through Twitter. Yes, I know. That is probably the most millennial thing you’ve heard but it’s how our story started. For months we would FaceTime each constantly, annoying everyone around us. We were pretty deadset on each other, but there was one little problem: 2,500 miles of country between us. In a wild mix of God, good fortune, and law school applications, I finally found the open door to move to Virginia. I packed up everything I had into my ’99 Buick, drove across the country, and wound up here. Sure, a lot of things have happened in between then and now: hurricane warnings, pandemics, even changing grad schools! But both of us knew this weird story is ours and we are going to own it wherever it takes us.
