This is a super awesome little art museum! Rachel spent an entire evening trying to talk to Aaron over a really loud crowd with no voice here before they started dating. It went okay. But the art is super pretty.
This is one of Ann Arbor's hidden gems. We know someone who works here.
A great place for canoe or kayak down the river through town. You can also rent tubes to just ride down the Cascades. Lines are long during sunny weekend days, and parking is limited, but there are plenty of people to direct you to the overflow lot off Broadway. Bonus points if you can find the apartment where Rachel and Aaron first lived together.
A great place to sit and people watch surrounded by trees and the beautiful University of Michigan.
Try the smoked salmon latkes. Trust us. It's awesome.
Locally Brewed beers and great food!
Casual Cuban inspired burger place. Rachel loves the ginger lemonade, and we both enjoy a bag of fried plantains.
Rachel used to like to spend a quiet night at the bar here with an old fashioned and a book. The food is also excellent.
An outdoor beer garden in the parking lot of a local business. It's a great place to start (and finish) an early evening.
Ethiopian food served family-style and without silverware. So yummy!
A great local hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. Rachel loves the fact that they have vegetarian tamales, and Aaron likes tacos.
Rachel took Aaron out here for his first birthday in Ann Arbor. A classy restaurant serving pan-Asian cuisine with a killer warm chocolate cake for dessert.
A great place for a quiet afternoon walk in the woods or along the river.
Kosmo's original shop was right across from Rachel's high school. She ate a lot of grilled cheese there. They don't serve it anymore, so she orders a Beef BiBimBop with broccoli, cucumber, spinach, and carrots. If she's feeling extra fancy (or just famished), she'll add an order of twigim.
