*IMPORTANT NOTE* Glacier National Park has instituted a pre-order ticket reservation system for the summer seasons in an effort to control crowds. Visitors that arrive at the park gates without a reservation will be turned away. See FAQ tab for ticket information. If you are just in town for the weekend and will not have time to plan hikes, etc. then we suggest just driving the Going-to-the-Sun-Road. We highly recommend clicking the website link at the "View" button below and following the list of best stops along the road. Whatever you do, don't skip Many Glacier - it's worth the drive to the east side and is Meagan's favorite place in the park! If you are looking to stay in one of the historic park lodges, the Many Glacier Hotel is the most beautiful and well maintained, though the prices are a bit steep (pun intended). Let us know if you have any questions about the park!
This is the wedding resort. It has several trout fishing ponds (fishing rods available in the office), volleyball nets, fire pits, etc.
This resort offers tons of fun activities with options that are great for kids, including zip lining, alpine slides, aerial adventure park, summer tubing, scenic lift rides, and mountain biking.
A tradition for Stoner/Erikson family vacations! Lots of fun activities for both kids and adults, including go carts, mini golf, a huge human maze, and our personal favorite: bumper boats.
A huge, beautiful arch dam about 15 miles south of the west entrance of the park. You can drive or walk over the top, and be sure to stop in the visitors center to learn more about it. Well worth the quick stop between Kalispell and the park!
Kalispell is a bigger town with standard chain stores and restaurants, while Whitefish is a smaller mountain tourist town with boutique shops and restaurants. There are several great breweries in the area - one of our favorites is Sunrift Brewery, and not just because they're Cubs fans. We also recommend Sacred Waters Brewing Co in Kalispell and Glacier Distilling in Coram (huckleberry and Flathead cherry whiskey)! We also love the bar inside the Lodge at Whitefish Lake, where Ryan suggests you order a Cold Smoke to drink outside by the water!
Another Stoner and Erikson family favorite while we were growing up. Traditional waterslides with options for kiddos.
Famous historical red jammer tours of the park for those who'd rather not drive themselves on the Going to the Sun Road.
