We met in the summer of 2010 when my cousin, Ashley, invited me to hang out with her friends from high school. Over the next couple of years we met at different functions. I was invited one night to his house and I brought my sister, Grace and my cousin, Mercedes. I don’t remember the exact details, but Steven called me beautiful and I threw a fork at him. We ended up working at the same job for almost a year, where we became better friends. He asked me to go “hang out at the drive-in movies” with him. Me being the awkward person that I am, decided “hell yeah, I love going to the movies!”, but I am going to bring Dulce because she has never been. Apparently, it was meant to be a date. You can get the whole story from Steven. In 2016, I moved into an apartment with Ashley. She invited Steven to hang out a couple times and he and I reconnected. New Year’s Eve of 2018 we gathered at That Place in Greenwood and had a crazy and fun night with Ashley and my sister, Kate. A few days later he asked to date me and I took my sweet time but finally said yes. I told him I loved him first over the phone, just ending the conversation like any normal family person would, “Love you, bye”. Well turns out, he loves me too. He proposed October 18, 2020. I said yes and here we are ready to begin out future together.
