Tswana is the primary language spoken in Rustenburg. People there also speak Sesotho, Sepedi, Zulu and English.

There is WiFi in the hotels but not in the local areas. If you want internet outside of the hotel, you have to set that up with your carrier.

There is Uber (use your regular Uber app) and GauTrain (Train to popular urban areas).

It’s generally safe to use your credit cards but I would recommend you bring a couple of South African rands. You can get the money exchange at your local bank.

Answer

Theft is a thing in South Africa. Always practice caution. Store your belongings securely. Do not flash your phone/wallet around in public places. Pick pocketing & stealing is common.
