Visit the square and our beautiful state capitol!
Memorial Union
This is one of our favorite places to spend a summer afternoon! Split a pitcher by the lake or take in a sunset here. Even if the weather isn’t great, it’s still a beautiful old building on campus with food and ice cream! *Note, the terrace might not be open yet depending on the weather, but the union itself will be.
Dane County Farmers' Market
Visit the farmer’s market on Saturday morning (6:15am-1:45pm) on the Capitol Square! It features vendors from all over Dane County. *Note, Saturday, April 13 is the opening date of the 2024 market!
The Food (Especially Brunch) in Downtown Madison
Some of our favorites include Cento (the boozy brunch for $35/person), Bassett Street Brunch Club, Sardine, Canteen, and Heritage Tavern (try the ham cinnamon roll!). While you're exploring, you should also try the donuts at Greenbush, the cocktails at Merchant or Leopold's, the steaks at Johnny Delmonico's, and the Indian Tic Tac Curry or the Korean BBQ at The Globe (the owner here is so nice)!
Salvatore's Tomato Pies - Livingston
Very close to the venue and one of our favorite pizza places in Madison! May want to make a reservation depending on the day.
Olbrich Botanical Gardens
A beautiful botanical garden on the near east side. Sure to have a ton of beautiful spring blooms in April!
Monona Terrace
One of the five Frank Lloyd Wright designed buildings in Madison. The rooftop has beautiful views of the lake, especially during sunrise!
