Cole had been working at the Apple Store for over a year by the time I got a job there in November 2019. I tried to make friends by being the person who brought in cookies all the time, though Cole claims this didn't influence him at all because he didn't realize it was me until way after the fact. But about a month and a half after I started, Cole walked up to me during a slow time on the floor and opened with "You've got some basic white girl boots on there" said with a wry smile on his face. Not one to be outdone, I quipped back "You're one to talk" as he stood there in what were basically the male version of my brown boots. He very quickly won me over with his blue eyes, great smile, hilarious sense of humor, and our shared love for all things Wisconsin sports-related. Fast forward through watching bad movies, meeting most of my extended family on our 4th date on NYE (I knew he was the one when he said he was up for that), countless texts, nights spent talking until early morning, showing each other our favorite TV shows, weekends and nights spent with each other's families, darts, picnics and grilling in the park behind my apartment, sporting events attended (Bucks, Badgers, Brewers, Packers), vacations, and all of the other little moments in between. Then on August 23, 2023, the hottest day of the year, he convinced me to go on a walk to the same park where we spent so much time during our early dating days, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
