Adam and Staci knew each other through mutual friends and from many nights out in DC and Arlington. Although Staci was keeping her options open it seemed that Adam knew exactly what he wanted since he messaged Staci to see if she would be interested in going out on a date with him. Staci unknowingly ignored Adam for almost 48 hours before he followed up at which Staci agreed to meet him for dinner and drinks at Clyde's in Georgetown.
Adam asked Staci's Stepdad for permission and bought the ring less than a week before his thoughtful proposal. It was Christmas morning in the year that shall not be named. Clifford (our baby boy Mastiff) got to open his stocking first, and then Adam opened his. At that point Adam handed Staci's stocking to her and told her to open it. He also started recording her as she pulled out cans of redbull and packages of candy. Once at the bottom Staci said "That's It" to which Adam said "No I think there's something else". Down in the toe of the stocking was a tiny cardboard box. Staci thought it was a promise ring and was about to be annoyed, but she opens the box and at the bottom is written "Will you marry me?". As Staci looks up, Adam is down on one knee with the REAL ring box. Tears were flowing and Staci gladly accepted. The rest of the day was spent updating friends and extended family and spending time with both of families to celebrate Christmas AND our engagement together!
