We're getting married!

We met during our sophomore year at Edwardsville High School in Spanish class where mutual friends encouraged us to get to know each other. On December 19, 2015, after spending a couple of months talking and getting to know each other, we finally decided to go on our first date where we made it official. Together, we spent the next eight years living in Illinois, Iowa, Ireland, and New York where we completed high school, undergrad, and graduate school - all the while traveling every chance we got. So far we've visited 21 states, 9 countries, and 9 national parks together and plan to see many more. 7 years and 2 days after our first date, Jacob proposed to Hailey at Joe Glik Park in Edwardsville, IL aaaaaaand she said yes! So far it has been an amazing adventure together and it is only just getting started.

We acknowledge that a 2.5 year long engagement isn't the most traditional timeline. After the proposal, we decided that we wanted to spend some time enjoying our engagement and not rush into anything. In addition, we knew that we wanted to wait until after we both graduated from our Master's programs, which won't be until the Spring of 2024. Plus, we need plenty of time to plan our dream wedding ;) With that being said, we couldn't wait to get the date out to our friends and family, so we decided to send the Save the Dates just a little bit in advance... Hopefully, we are giving everyone enough time to make plans to come and celebrate our big day with us. We cannot wait to see everyone we love together in one place and appreciate you saving the date. And don't worry, we will send the formal invitations as a little reminder about 6-8 months before the big day :)
