SP & Chelsie met in 2013 while he was pursuing a doctorate degree at Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA and she was pursuing her undergrad degree at the University of Louisville. During this time they had a chance encounter that would change their lives forever and for the better. SP & Chelsie began courting long distance, while flying back and forth from Louisville to Baton Rouge and working up a pretty hefty Facetime bill! Their favorite date nights at the time consisted of pressing play at the same time on their netflix movie over facetime. This long distance love lasted almost two years when Chelsie got the news of a lifetime, that not only did she get accepted into Teach for America, but that she would be placed in South Louisiana, in the same city SP lived in! In 2015, their love story took a much invited turn and they finally lived in the same city. During this time SP earned his doctorate, Chelsie earned her masters and they endured floods, hurricanes, and two new pups together! Over 5 years after their original love story began, the two finally become ONE as Dr. and Mrs. Davis in November 2019.

The day started as a normal Sunday, SP & Chelsie went to church and were visiting with family during the holiday time. All week SP was discussing going to the Galleria in Dallas, TX and as usual Chelsie had a million questions about why they were going (she’s very nosy). SP kept it short and simple as he normally does and told Chelsie to just go with the flow. It was on the journey to Dallas when everything seemed to be going well, until we stopped for food and Chelsie insisted on getting the most difficult thing on the menu. When the food was taking longer than usual, it seemed like SP was getting nervous and Chelsie had no idea why. Not long after, they ran into horrible traffic that delayed their time even more and everyone in the car seemed to be sweating bullets but Chelsie (she was still oblivious)! They finally arrived at the Galleria and were able to see the most beautiful and grandest Christmas tree they’d ever seen. Chelsie still had no idea why they were really there, so when SP’s sister and dad told them to go and take a picture in front of the tree, she obliged thinking they were just going to snap some cute photos. All of a sudden SP stated “I brought you here for a reason”, Chelsie, still confused asked “what are we doing here?”.... A crowd began to form, because everyone knew what was going on BUT Chelsie. SP then got down on one knee and professed his love and proposed to Chelsie! She of course screamed YES and the rest is history. #OhHappyDavis
