The Venue
Knife River Place
The venue is situated along the Knife River in Mora, MN. This may seem like a random location but there’s a cool story with how this venue became an option for Sophie and Logan’s special day! In August of 2021, Sophie attended a faith based speaking event in Mora that was put on by a small local ministry. The location of the event was new to the ministry and a little further out but Sophie made the drive. Upon arriving at the venue, Sophie fell in love. There was a large red barn situated on acres of open fields and trees. The interior of the barn was very modern with white walls and natural wood and metal accents. It was a beautiful space! After the event Sophie literally thought to herself, “This is where I want to get married.” She raved about it to Logan, dreaming of the future when they would be engaged. Out of curiosity, she tried finding details about the venue online. Part of it seemed to be under construction but there had to be something about it online. Nothing came up!

Then in September, Sophie decided to join the bible study through the same ministry. After some small talk at her table, Sophie learned that the barn from the event was owned by one of the bible study leaders, Paula. Paula and her husband were in the process of adding on to make it an official venue for weddings and other events! Fast forward a couple months and Sophie and Logan got engaged in November. Ideally they wanted a Fall 2022 wedding but they knew it would be hard to find a venue in under a year. Sophie eagerly approached Paula about her barn in Mora. It was still under construction but expected to be complete in Spring 2022. Sophie and Logan toured the property together in December and practically had their pick of dates. Everything fell into place so quickly and Sophie couldn’t help but feel God’s hand in it all!
