Sophie and Logan both attended the same high school, 2 years apart, but didn't actually meet until 2013 while working at a local grocery store in the area where they both lived. The two worked part time while they attended college but were strictly work acquaintances for the first few years of knowing each other. As time went on, a friend group formed among several of the workers, so Logan and Sophie began to see much more of each other outside of work. A friendship started to develop and by the summer of 2018 they were no longer just work acquaintances...

One of Sophie's favorite things about the end of summer is The State Fair and she would often go with other friends from work. In years past, Sophie would go with two of her close friends, Zach and Alisha (both friends from the grocery store) and this year she also invited Logan ;) Due to the logistics of driving and parking, Sophie asked Logan if he would drive and they would meet Alisha and Zach at the fair. This was really the first time Sophie and Logan had ever hung out solo. By now they had developed a flirty friendship, others noticed, but neither thought it would become anything more. The State Fair was a blast! The four walked around, shared food and laughed. As the night went on, Alisha and Zach somehow came up with the idea to dare Sophie and Logan to kiss before going on the Ye Old Mill ride! The dare came as a total shock to both but in hindsight clearly Zach and Alisha saw something... A kiss didn't happen on the Ye Old Mill ride, just lots of laughter and joking. The night was coming to an end but Alisha and Zach still didn't forget about the dare. To end the night, they decided to go on the Skyglider ride. Each chairlift sat 2 people. Sophie and Logan rode together in one chairlift, and Zach and Alisha rode in the chairlift behind them. This was where Zach and Alisha were really encouraging the dare. Sophie and Logan would just laugh at their comments but as time was running out on the Skyglider, Sophie realized she wanted Logan to kiss her. In absolute rare form, Sophie turned to Logan and said, "what happens at the fair, stays at the fair..." Logan took a minute to take in what Sophie just said and leaned over to complete the dare!

In the days after the kiss, Sophie and Logan both wondered what it meant. There was a strong attraction but neither wanted to jeopardize their friendship and they still worked together! A few weeks after the kiss, Logan stopped over at Sophie's house to help her brother with his truck. He stepped inside real quick and called for Sophie. Not knowing what was about to unfold, Sophie came up from her room and Logan asked if she would go on a date with him. Sophie was completely caught off guard and wasn't sure how to process the question. On one hand she did but there was also a lot to consider. After the longest 10 seconds of Logan's life, and some side talk with Sophie's dog, Dixie, to pass the time, Logan heard Sophie say, "sure, we can hang out." Sophie was a little afraid to commit to a date but also knew she didn't want to say no. Logan said he would text her with details and Sophie went back to her room to process what she had just agreed to. It was fall so Logan planned to take Sophie to Pine Tree Apple Orchard followed by dinner at Pizza Pezzo in White Bear Lake. Logan picked her up, and they made their way to the apple orchard. One big attraction at Pine Tree was the corn maze. You pay a few dollars to walk around finding letters to unscramble a word. They completed the maze and word, or rather words, was "first kiss," after the apple. It was kind of a funny coincidence! After the apple orchard, Sophie and Logan were off to dinner! Except when they arrived at Pizza Pezzo, it didn't open for another hour. To kill time, the two decided to walk along trails around a nearby lake. They chatted and just enjoyed the crisp fall day before finally making their way back to Pizza Pezzo for dinner. Sophie still gives Logan a hard time for not checking the hours for Pizza Pezzo but the extra time they had walking around was well worth his oversight. :) Sophie and Logan go back to Pine Tree Apple Orchard and Pizza Pezzo each year as a "1st Date" Anniversary!

Sophie and Logan planned to go hiking with Logan's sister, Robyn. They settled on Banning State Park and planned to bring the dogs! Sophie and Logan have a great dane named Dixie and Robyn and her fiancé, Mitch have a red lab, named Boone. The three enjoyed the peaceful fall day walking with the dogs along the trails and chatting. The park was quieter with not many other people, the air was crisp and there were piles of leftover snow from the previous snowfall. It was the perfect November day! The plan was to walk to the waterfall to take a few pictures. There were mixed reviews by other hikers but ultimately the waterfall did not disappoint. When the three reached the waterfall, they walked around, explored the area, taking in the pretty landscape and snapped a few pictures of Dixie. Then Logan asked Sophie if she wanted a few pictures of them. Robyn took out her phone and started counting down from 3, 2, 1... Logan quickly turned away from Sophie saying, "hold on!" In seconds he had pulled out a ring from his pocket, turned back around and was down on one knee with one simple question, "Sophie, will you marry me!" Everything happened so quickly, Sophie grabbed Logan's arms and exclaimed, "Logan!" before nodding and saying, YES! It was a very special moment and Robyn captured it all on video!
