Maid of Honor
Howdy y’all, this is Imogene, Julia’s maid of honor! Julia and I became friends way back in 2007 at a middle school dance, through a mutual friend who thought we would really “hit it off”…and boy did we! Our friendship grew and grew over AIM Instant Messenger. We eventually had our first IRL friend date which occurred which consisted of sushi, trying on terrible dresses and sticking fake nails on ourselves in a Walgreens parking lot. It’s safe to say that this experience truly bonded us and led us to this beautiful friendship. As we step into this next chapter of life, I could not be more honored and thrilled to stand by Julia and Spencer’s side on their big day.
Best Man
Hey everyone, I'm Justin. I couldn't be more excited to be Spencer's co-best man! I first met Spencer at a new years party in high school. At the time I just thought he was some weirdo wearing this super ugly shirt from another school. Little did I know at the time he would soon become my best friend. I hope everyone has a friend in there life that is as good at being a friend as Spencer is. Julia and Spencer are family to me and Im so proud of them.

Hey hey it’s LJ (Lauren... but really LJ)! Julia and I met back in 2013 after both joining Kappa Alpha Theta. The whole recruitment process is a blur, but somehow amidst the chaos I came out with Julia by my side, and I’ve been lucky enough to have her as one of my go-to friends ever since. We’ve been through a lot together, whether it be dancing and rapping on stage representing Theta, to supporting each other through both of our long distance relationships, to skipping down Comm Ave hand in hand, and everything in between. Julia’s the kind of friend who hears we’re in the same city for work, and drives to my hotel at 1am just so we can sit for an hour on the front steps to catch up. I’m forever grateful to have her in my life, and so happy she’s found her forever happiness with Spencer!

Gustavo is the only groomsman who didn’t send in his text in time! He had many weeks to do it! Great job, Gustavo! We’ll see you at the wedding!

Julia and I became fast friends through our a cappella group in college, but once I realized her love for buffalo chicken dip, her talent for doing people’s hair, and her immeasurable sense of humor I knew that we would be lifelong friends. I remember sitting at the BU Pub with Julia and Spencer right after they first met, and I knew immediately it was the start of something good! Here we are, years later and I cannot be more excited to be a part of their special day. I love you both endlessly and can’t imagine you guys without each other. Can it be May 2021 already?!

I met Spencer and Julia after college, when we all moved to St. Louis., Such a confusing time after college. What will I do? Who will I spend my time with? I was living my hometown but felt like a stranger. I was lucky enough to stumble upon friendship with these two. Evidently, I needed to meet two Boston University grads to make St. Louis feel like home. Julia used to joke about who would get to keep me as a friend if she and Spencer were ever to break up. The honest answer is I wouldn't be able to pick - I love both of them, and I'm lucky that my friends are marrying each other.

Julia and I grew up living 2.6 miles away from each other, but didn’t actually become friends until we ran into each other at a cappella auditions during the first week of our freshman year. Luckily, we ended up joining the same group (shoutout Terps!), and the rest is history! More specifically, the rest was us singing (a lot) together, beatboxing together, becoming roommates, Julia singing Africa by Toto in the shower, me visiting Julia in Paris, and now both of us making the distance between St. Louis and Brooklyn feel smaller by FaceTiming from our beds on weekend mornings. I couldn’t be happier that she’s marrying such a great guy (hi Spencer, love you too), and am over the moon to be a part of their special day. Love you both with all my heart!

Spencer and I met early in college through intramural sports. He was the first person I’d met at BU that was even remotely as competitive as me. Initially, we were both always trying to one up each other, but when we realized how well we meshed as teammates, our friendship really blossomed. We began to support each other in everything we did. Sports, school, relationships - you name it. He has become one of my closest friends and is someone I know will always have my back. Spencer is/was one of my groomsmen. To be able to return the favor is an absolute honor. He and Julia make a fantastic team and it’s so exciting to see them tie the knot!

Hi everyone! My name is Katelyn. When I look back on my college memories at Boston University, there are a few experiences for which I am particularly thankful. During the Spring of my freshman year, I auditioned for and was welcomed into an all-female a cappella group called Terpsichore. Over the next four years, Terps brought me many wonderful memories, but I am especially thankful for Terps because it brought so many wonderful humans into my life. One of these wonderful humans is none other than, you guessed it, Julia Budde. Her friendship has meant so much to me over the past seven years. I am overjoyed that Julia found someone who is worthy of her humor, adventurous spirit, and kindness, and even more overjoyed to be a part of her and Spencer's special day.

I met Spencer during arguably one of the darkest times in a person’s life—middle school. At 11-years old I mostly focused on skateboarding badly and playing Pokémon, so I don't remember exactly when I encountered Spencer amid the jungles of our sixth grade halls. But we braved those social Hunger Games as fast friends, growing together from awkward kids into slightly-less-awkward teenagers. And now we’re here: functioning, real-life adults getting ready for your wedding! I’m so lucky to have had a friend like you through it all. If I could tell those weird little kids where they’d end up, I know Lil Spence would be so proud! You’re marrying one of the greatest women I’ve ever met, and I wish an eternal cheers of love and gratitude to the both of you.
Bridesmaid
Hi there! Brooke here! I am so excited to be one of Julia’s bridesmaids. Julia and I met our freshman year at BU during our sorority’s bid night. Despite the ugly t-shirts we were given, I remember that Julia still looked pretty and I couldn’t tell if I was going to love or hate this girl. We know how that story ended. We were roommates for 2 years, separated only by brief interludes of Julia fleeing to Europe. I cajoled her now-fiancé to be my friend during those dark times, and luckily Spencer turned out to be pretty stellar. I’m so grateful for my friendship with each of them, and love them both immensely. Thank you for including me in this momentous day. I can’t wait!!!

I’ve never said this out loud, but I don’t actually remember meeting Spencer. Phew! Love ya pal, glad to get that off my chest. All of sudden he was just one of my best friends, and the next year he was my roommate who played cartoon basketball on the tv all day and ate gluten-free dominos pizza like they were going out of business. Fast forward a bit to first day of senior year - I walk in to a freshman Bible class and there sits Spencer, ALSO taking a freshman Bible class that neither of us had mentioned. Every Monday after class, we would continue our Bible study together at the BU Pub over a cider and sandwich. One of those days, Julia walked in, and BOOM - now we’re all getting married! Don’t skip Bible study, y’all.

It feels as though Julia and I were just destined to be friends. Having originally met at an over-eager BU Class of 2016 meet up our senior year of high school, to reconnecting at an awkward bid-night for Theta freshman year, we couldn't escape each other! 8 years, many laughs, a few apartment mice and lots of buffalo chicken dip later, I'm so lucky to have Julia and Spencer in my life and am honored to be apart of their big day. I cannot wait to see the amazing life they build together!

You know when you meet a stranger and add their contact into your phone, but you don’t know their last name yet so you make something up to be able to remember them by later? I think up until a year ago, Spencer was in my phone as “Spencer Ripped Pants”. After that first impression, who knew all the blessings that my first friend at BU would bring to my life—from living together, to traveling across the world together, and now celebrating the union of him and his absolutely incredible fiancée (who has equally been such a blessing in my life!) You’re one of the greatest men I know Spence; Here’s to a lifetime of happiness to you two!

Hi, I’m Caroline! I met Julia when I joined our sorority my freshman year at BU. Big & little reveal is usually meant to be a surprise, but I knew Julia would be my big as soon as I met her. She’s always known how to be there for me, from eating cold mac & cheese in a hallway to letting me sulk in her bed when boys made me sad. Years later, I am still so lucky to have Julia to look up to. She visits me in Chicago, sends me the best pictures of Koda, and tells me all about what it’s like having to live with a boy. I’ve been so lucky to watch her and Spencer’s relationship grow into something so beautiful. I can’t wait to stand by Julia on such a joyful and love-filled day!

I met Spencer on a Labor Day weekend back from College with Justin. We were going to hangout with a "Chaminade kid" was what I was told. I thought, "there's a chance this kid might not be cool." Was I ever wrong, not only was this kid "LIT", he was a generous person, who made me feel welcomed and offered me the controller for the following game. Spencer has been welcoming and generous from the first day I met him and regardless of how things are going, he is someone I can always rely on to always be himself. Take care of him Julia!!
