Our story began on one of the hottest days of July in New Orleans at City Park in front of the New Orleans Museum of Art. We aimlessly walked the vast park, picked some flowers, lost in conversation about every topic under the sun; favorite music, personal stories, and so much more. After realizing we walked around for 2.5 hrs and also realizing we were so sweaty (lol), we sought out A/C and a cold drink. Sitting at the nearby bar, Liuzza's, we continued to share stories and lots of laughs. After another hour, we realized it was time to head our separate ways. I drove him home, but not before he asked me to meet with him and his friends at a local karaoke bar, Kajuns, and of course, I said I'd be there! I show up to Kajuns and am eager to see Jake again! Most dates don't allow you to see how potential partners are among friends, but I got to see Jake thrive amongst friends who love him (and who I love and care for so much now). I joke that the part of all this that sealed the deal is when I got to see Jake become his truest self while performing "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol, it's a must-see! We spent the rest of that long weekend hanging out and realizing this was the beginning of something special. Monday came along and Jake flew back to California, but we knew we'd be seeing each other again :)
