We both grew up in small town Anderson, Indiana. We graduated from the same high school, only 3 years apart. Joshua's mom was Bethany's insurance agent when she got her first car. Bethany's dad was Joshua's high school Biology teacher. Our birthdays are a day apart. The day we met was the busiest day of the year in Savannah, Georgia, St. Patrick's Day 2015. He was wearing a Colts hat, and being the shy girl that she is, Bethany had to go say hi to a Colts fan that was so far from home. It took some time for them both to be ready for a new relationship, but when football season came around, Joshua knew who he wanted to watch the rivalry match between the Colts and Patriots with. He didn't let a Colts loss ruin the evening, but instead somehow guessed that she was the kind of girl who would definitely say, "Yes!" to karaoke. She didn't actually know that the game was supposed to be a date (definitely wore a Dallas Clark jersey and jeans), but the kiss goodnight at the car, sealed the deal.
After a few years, we decided to purchase a home together. Joshua planned to propose on the doorstep before we entered the house as new homeowners for the first time. Due to "Slow-Vannah" operations, that didn't happen, but he proposed on our beautifully lit (he worked hard to get those lights up!) back porch, soon after.
We are so excited to celebrate this day with all of our friends and family. The wedding ceremony will be on the beach, as this is one of our favorite places to enjoy a day off with friends. Attire is anything from beach to cocktail! Please be comfortable. The ceremony will be fairly short. Seating will be standing or bring your beach chair/towel and cooler! (Seriously, we would love to see a bunch of beach chairs at our wedding! Can't wait to see that pic!)
