Wondering how we met?

We got by with a little help from our friends.

Our story actually starts all the way back in 2018. Taylor was living in Cleveland, OH and Michael was living in Madison, WI (an odd place for someone who's not a fan of the snow), but something just wasn't right for either of them. One day, at the end of 2018, Taylor decided to pack up her things in Cleveland and ultimately, on New Year's Day of 2019, she made the move to her favorite place in the world, Chicago. Shortly thereafter, Michael started to miss his friends and his family back at home and began to put the wheels in motion to make the same move back to Chicago. Taylor started cozying up in her own apartment in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago and six months later, in June, Michael moved just five blocks away from her, to an apartment with friends in Wrigleyville. So, of course they met around the neighborhood? Nope! It would take another 3 months and some help from their friends for Michael and Taylor to run into each other. Taylor had moved in with her best friend (and future bridesmaid), Christa, in August. After getting situated and making it the ultimate girl's apartment, they decided to have their official housewarming party at the end of September. All of their friends started to trickle in, and of course, the last people to arrive were Christa's brother, Johnny (also a groomsman), and all of his roommates... including Michael. Michael likes to say that he fell in love with Taylor the moment he met her, but that it took Taylor a little longer to feel the same. Taylor will tell you that that's not true and she also knew instantly that she loved Michael. The two of them were inseparable the rest of the night and found themselves talking from Taylor's apartment, to the bars they stopped at, and everywhere in between. They finally ended the night at their favorite bar, Glascott's, with Michael leaving to head home. Taylor walked out of the bar to see him off and, in true Taylor fashion, tripped and fell off of the curb. Thankfully for her, Michael didn't see her laying in a heap on Webster Avenue, but she did eventually tell him the true story of the end of their night; and in true Michael fashion, he now tells everyone that it is "the night Taylor fell for me". And he is not wrong. Now, 4 and a half years, a puppy, and a "cross-country" (Michael being dramatic) move, here we are. Days away from husband + wife. We cannot wait to share our day with the ones we love most and we are so thankful to you all for your support and love. We'll see you on the dance floor! All our love, Michael, Taylor, and Gus
