Optional ways to spend the time before cocktail hour: 1. Swing by the Plaza on the way to the President hotel. Drive through or take a walk to enjoy the classic Spanish architecture. Pop into Made in KC on west 47th Street or try some Topsy’s popcorn at 47th & Central. 2. Head to Winstead’s to grab a delicious milkshake, just east of the plaza where west 47th turns into Emmanuel Cleaver Blvd. You’ll drive past the JC Nichols Fountain where Andrew proposed to Katherine! 3. Head directly to the President hotel & enjoy a beverage in the famous Drum Room lounge once frequented by jazz legends & Frank Sinatra! 4. Walk a block north from the President and view the elegant lobby of Hotel KC. Enjoy a drink at The Classic lounge bar just off the lobby. 5. Walk or Uber two blocks east of the Hilton to visit KC’s Power & Light district for various restaurants & casual bars. 6. Relax in your hotel room at the President and join the cocktail party at 5:30 feeling refreshed!
