Ferry to Martha’s Vineyard (if traveling by car)

* IMPORTANT INFORMATION * If traveling by car, this will require you to take a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard! You have the option to bring your car on the ferry or leave your car in a designated parking lot in Woods Hole and take the ferry as a passenger (suggested). If you plan on bringing your car over on the ferry I would double check with where you are staying on the island to make sure there is parking available for you before making a ferry reservation. Parking on the island is very limited and not many places have it at all, including hotels and private residences. Car reservations on the ferries book up VERY fast due to limited space, so I would just plan accordingly. You can make a ferry reservation starting February 14, 2024 at 8a.m.! Reservations can be made online through the website listed here - click “view”. Bringing your car over is definitely not necessary! There are two designated parking lots in Woods Hole where you can leave your car and come over to the island just as a passenger. Martha’s Vineyard is a very walking friendly and bike friendly island. Uber and Lyft are also available and there are many places to rent bikes, mopeds, scooters if you’d like once you’re on island! If you’re coming over to the island just as a passenger (without your car), you can also purchase a ferry ticket online and it can be used at any time on any ferry - no need to make a reservation in advance!
