Noah and Shelby first met in October of 2020. Shelby was living in a very dark New York City, and Noah was living and working in a Montana town of about 800 people. After months of only getting to know each other through text messages and FaceTimes, they decided it was time to finally meet. Shelby took a leap and flew out west to meet her "mountain man" (iykyk) with the blessing and recommendation of her best friend Lainee, who introduced them. The rest is history!
Noah got down on one knee on a rainy Tuesday afternoon in front of Lincoln Center, a beloved spot of Shelby's, to ask his "favorite person" to be his wife. Although completely surprised, her answer was easy, and they embraced amongst the scattered applause of some construction workers nearby. With Noah's months of careful planning and the help of (literally) all of her close friends and family, Shelby didn't suspect a thing until moments before she had a ring on her finger. They proceeded to one of their favorite Upper West Side digs to drink margaritas, eat queso, and party with their friends, and Shelby's mother, Karen, who had flown in for the occasion. Of course, Shelby was wearing all black for the proposal, but her soon to be matron of honor was already on top of it, and had a white jumpsuit ready to go for a bridal costume change. The night ended perfectly with a dinner for close friends and family and of course, wouldn't be complete without THE cake from Milk bar.
