Hey everyone, here is just a little bit about our story! xo Shelby Matthew & I met in 2018, our freshman year of college. Matthew was double majoring in Animal Sciences & Biology while I studied Medical Laboratory Sciences. These science driven majors sent us to similar classes all throughout undergrad, in particular our biology lab freshman year. We were randomly assigned at the same table and sat next to one another that semester. Being the students we are, we both carried our team in group work and only spoke when complaining about our table-mates. After the course was over Matthew added me on social media before summer break began. One day Matthew posted an adorable photo of a german shepherd puppy (shoutout to the Reinke family) and I commented on how cute the dog was. From there on out we began chatting everyday until school started back up. In the fall of Sophomore year Matthew tried to swoon me, but as we all know I can be... difficult. All it took was a Billie Eilish ticket to win me over the next summer of 2019 . The only thing was the Billie Eilish concert was in Chicago, IL. I had to break the news to my parents that I was flying to Chicago to go to a concert with a boy they had never heard of and trust I wouldn't get abducted or murdered. We officially began dating that summer after the concert and have gone on numerous adventures since. After 3 years of dating, Matthew popped the question while we were on a camping trip to Michigan. While on a 13 mile hike up the coast of the Upper Peninsula at Pictured Rocks National Shoreline, I noticed I forgot my adapter for the camera. In the midst of a freakout, Matthew tried to make the situation better with a diet coke. To no surprise, this didn't work. I began crying into my hands and when I looked up there was a shiny rock in front of me. We hiked up to a lookout of the shoreline to have lunch and celebrate the engagement. While at the lunch spot a boat tour on the water pointed up to us and announced "and here we have lover's leap, one of the most romantic places in the park" (check out the arch in the background of our photo below).
