We're Getting Married!

It was a drizzly September evening in Philly when Shelby and Andre sat down for their first date at Harp & Crown Restaurant in Center City, Philadelphia. Andre was running late, as usual. Shelby was waiting for him outside, but let him walk right past her in his rush to get inside. Once they sat down, Shelby immediately impressed him with her knowledge of the "secret bowling alley" under the restaurant. Unfortunately, the two of them were never able to make it down there because of a private event... The night took a surprising turn when Andre mentioned the local Tex-Mex cantina, "El Vez." Shelby actually loved Tex-Mex! So they decided to head there right after dinner. It was at El Vez where Shelby realized Andre was actually the charming young surgeon she had briefly met on a recent trip to Las Vegas! Although she didn't tell him right away, it didn't take long for Andre to put things together and realize this as well... Soon the two of them would regularly be making the 55min drive (30min for Shelby...) back and forth between Philadelphia (Shelby's hometown, where Andre was working) and Wilmington (where Shelby was now living and working). Andre, Shelby, and Andre's dog Drizzy shared many adventures that year, including making new friends and exploring new food around Philadelphia, visiting old friends in New York City and listening to music around Brooklyn, and taking magical trips to Miami, Cabo San Lucas, and even Croatia! When it finally came time for Andre to move back to Houston for work, the two of them decided to make the 6 day journey together. They packed up Shelby's trusty Mazda with suitcases, potted plants, and a very feisty small corgi and started the road trip down to Texas. During the week long trip, they made stops to hike on the Appalachian trail, listen to music in Nashville, and see family in Alabama and New Orleans. However, not before a very special stop in Asheville, NC where Andre took Shelby on a quiet walk around the Biltmore Estate and surprised Shelby with an engagement ring! And the rest is history! Shelby and Andre are now enjoying their new lives and jobs in Houston and they both can't wait to start their married life together.
