We are a dating app success story. We matched on Halloween of 2020 and went on our first date exactly two weeks later at Madtree Brewery, in Oakley, about halfway between our respective homes. It’s crazy to think we lived a mile from each other and had never met before then. We bonded over our love of horror movies and international travel (he’s been to more countries, I’ve been to more continents). Our similar personalities as extroverts and shared interests in food, wine and athletics further solidified our relationship. In a culture that is rapidly losing it authenticity, we are so blessed to have found a counterpart that we can be our true selves with.
We were on vacation in Sedona, Arizona with Tyler’s brother Justin and his wife Julie. Day one, Tyler signed us up for a wine tour and the last stop was a vineyard called D.A Ranch. It was Tyler’s idea to take some couples pictures, very out of character, I should have known then. Down by the lake, besides a willow tree with horses behind us, he got down on one knee and he asked me to be his forever.
