The Katy Trail Ice House is a Dallas go to if you're wanting a refreshing drink and ambience. Try their most popular Summer Beer or treat yourself to a margarita. Before or afterwards, go for a nice stroll along the Katy Trail.
Lower Greenville is one of the few areas with it all and where it is super walk friendly. Shopping, amazing diverse foods, bars, Trader Joes and more. During the day, walk around and shop and eat some delicious food (Greenville Avenue Pizza, Son of a Butcher, Fortune House, Wabi House - some of the best ramen). At night, check out some of the nice rooftop bars, dive bars, and breweries (Truck Yard, Leela's Wine bar, Old Crow, HG Supply Co., and more).
Not feeling the arboretum. Enjoy a walk along the 9 mile loop and take in the fresh air and the dam. Stop by the White Rock Lake dog park or the White Rock Lake Alehouse for a nice brew. In the early days of Tim and Younky's relationship, they both happened to lived on opposite ends of White Rock Lake. The couple spent many days going on runs or biking to an from one another's apartments, the grocery store, and Tim's local community garden. Klyde Warren Park is a 5.2-acre public park in Downtown Dallas, Texas. The park is open to the public, enjoy some live music, grab a bite at the food truck and walk to a nearby restaurant (they're all good! Nearby Tex-Mex in walking distance: Miriam Cocina, Mexican Sugar, El Fenix, Las Palmas). After a bite, check out the museums - Dallas Art Museum & the Nasher Sculpture Museum.
Check out the American Airlines Center for any Dallas Mavericks, Stars, Concert, or other events at the center Friday or Saturday night. Stop by Hero for a bite before or after and walk across to Victory Park and explore the stores to shop or have a meal at. Mesero is located in Victory Park and another stable tex-mex option - you can't go wrong!

Or just walk around and explore.
Tim received his P.H.D at SMU, park at Snider Plaza and explore the shops and food and walk over to be taken to another world that feels outside of Dallas. Bandito's is Tim's favorite tex-mex spot near SMU, but if you're not a fan of tex-mex, try D.L Macks or half shells next door.
