Italy holds sentimental value to Meghan and Chris, and we prefer to have a very small ceremony. We greatly value our family and friends and want to celebrate our marriage with everyone we care about when we return to New York. We appreciate your understanding.
Please see the "Italy Travel" tab. :)
Renting a car and driving in Italy is very similar to the US! The only prerequisite is to acquire an International Driving Permit, which can be done quickly and easily in-person at any AAA location in the US. We found a great guide that explains it better than we can, so we are going to share it here: https://mominitaly.com/renting-a-car-in-italy/ We would recommend just plugging the name (Tenuta di Casa Bruciata) into Google Maps or Waze. The address is Loc. San Bartolomeo dei Fossi, 06019, Preggio. If you prefer formal driving directions, those can be found here: http://www.casabruciata.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Casa-Bruciata-directions.pdf
We are excited to have our Wedding Party and immediate families stay with us at Casa Bruciata! For these individuals, check-in at Casa Bruciata is anytime after 3PM on Thursday, May 4. Feel free to arrive anytime between then and Friday. Check-out from the venue is at 10AM on Monday, May 8, which means you can use Sunday to recharge by the villa's pool or go about your travels. :) For those guests staying at the hotel, we are very excited to have you as well! Feel free to plan your hotel stay to arrive and depart whenever is convenient.
All are invited to stay (for free!) at Casa Bruciata! All information about the living units can be found here: http://www.casabruciata.com/apartments. Meghan and Chris will assign people to specific units after receiving RSVPs with who will be attending.
Please use the "RSVP" tab above! We're not asking anyone to snail-mail us.
See the "Italy Schedule" tab for the full itinerary.
Typically the weather is in the mid-60s or low-70s Fahrenheit. Rain or wind is rare but possible.
We definitely want to accommodate! Please include this information in the RSVP or email us at meghanchriswed@gmail.com, and we will come up with a solution.
We definitely encourage posting pictures on social media! And please tag us! During the ceremony though, please leave the photography to the photographer though.
Of course :)
The reception needs to formally end around midnight so the venue staff can deconstruct the sound system. We plan to keep the party going afterward though for anyone who wants to stay up.
Yes! If you're planning on being there the day before or after the wedding ceremony, feel free to bring a bathing suit! We will be!
Yes! There is ample parking.
Thank you for the interest, but we do not anticipate having a virtual component to the wedding ceremony.
Should you wish to give us a gift, our preference would be for it to be shared with us or our parents while in the United States. If that is not possible though, we would gladly accept any sort of gift at the wedding (just please let us know in advance if it's large so we can plan for bringing it back to the US).
We unfortunately don't trust our neighbors in NYC, so we are asking anyone gracious enough to send a gift to ship it to Meghan's parents. Shopping through the "Registry" tab above should automatically provide that address, but if you need us to share the address with you directly, please email us at meghanchriswed@gmail.com and we'll be happy to do so! Thank you again!
A light breakfast will be available each day at no charge to our guests!
Please bring your own lunch if you need it. All rooms are equipped with a full kitchen, and there are markets in Perugia and Umbertide along the drive to the venue. There are also restaurants ~20 minutes away if you prefer to eat out for lunch.
To anyone who suspects they may be ill (regardless of what it is), PLEASE stay home - we will completely understand. In regards to precautions whilst at the venue, most events are outdoors, and for the events that are indoors, all doors will be kept open to allow for air flow.
If your invitation did not include a +1, we likely cannot accommodate an additional person.
We expect around 30 people in attendance.
Our wedding will be a small, intimate ceremony with only our closest family and friends in attendance. We understand requesting RSVPs this far in advance is atypical, but we would like to allow time to coordinate travel and accommodate additional guests if possible. We would like to kindly request your RSVP by August 31, 2022 in the RSVP tab above.
Unfortunately there will not be a bridal shower for the wedding. Since we are asking people to travel to Italy, we do not want to ask people to travel twice.
The wedding day dress code is Cocktail Attire. The ceremony will be outdoors down a hill - practical shoes are recommended.
Not necessary! Everyone is invited to stay (for free!) at the venue!
The bridesmaids are wearing taupe, and the groomsmen are wearing light-blue suits.
There is not Uber at the venue, but there are taxis usually stationed at the Perugia and Assisi train stations. If needed, taxis can be coordinated in advance by contacting: - Perugia Taxi 0039.075.5004888 info@perugiataxi.it - Assisi Taxi 0039.075.813100 info@radiotaxiassisi.it
