A few things to keep in mind:
Availability: Most places will require you to call the check availability. If you see that they look full online, give them a call anyways.
Location: You may see a lot of villas referencing Cruz Bay (West End) and Coral Bay (East End). These are the two main "towns" within St. John. Most, if not all, of the wedding events will take place on the West End (Cruz Bay) of the island. The ride from one side of the island to the next is approximately 30 minutes, depending on your driver.
Transportation: There are plenty of open-air taxis on St. John, but we recommend renting a Jeep on island so that you have more available access to exploring the island at your leisure.
Taylor and Paige are happy to help you in your search for a private villa if that is the route you'd like to take. Price ranges can vary, and are oftentimes cheaper than a hotel room, particularly if you are travelling with a group.
