Destiny (or online dating) brought us together in February 2019. Despite Kristen’s hesitations due to an assumption Joe was a “paragraph” texter, she agreed to meet Joe for dinner at Tessa on the UWS in Manhattan. We instantly hit it off, even though Kristen was mortified by her dinner order - she ordered a turkey leg that looked like something straight out of Game of Thrones or some medieval show. After dinner, we went to a comedy show, where we also had the pleasure of witnessing a crazy guy from the previous show trying to threaten the bouncer with a broken bottle. Needless to say, we escaped unscathed and agreed on a second date. And now, here we are celebrating with family and friends as we exchange our vows!
On the morning of December 18th, Joe managed to get up earlier than Kristen (a rarity!) and put the ring in her stocking. Before he woke her up, he put Christmas music on in the living room and turned on all the Christmas lights. After exchanging gifts, Joe told Kristen he had one last gift for her and to close her eyes. He then reached into the stocking to get the ring out and got down on his knee. When Kristen opened her eyes he asked her to marry him and she said YES! After spending a little time soaking it in, Joe told her there was actually one more surprise. They then went to brunch where she thought some friends were waiting, but it was actually our parents who were there to surprise her! Later that night, we had a few of our friends join us for cocktails at a local lounge!
