Getting Here

Charleston International Airport (CHS) is the closest airport ~35 miles from Kiawah Island. You can take an Uber or taxi from the airport to the island (~$50-60). You should direct the Uber/taxi to villa check-in and ask them to wait while you check-in so they can then bring you to your villa. If they won't wait, you can get an on-island shuttle from the check-in location. If you are staying at The Sanctuary or any accommodation that is not operated by the island, you can have the Uber/taxi take you directly to your destination (no need to go to check-in). **NOTE: Lyft does NOT have access to the island.** You can also arrange for transportation through the resort. Please see the GETTING HOME section for rates & processes. Note: this only applies if your accommodations were booked through Kiawah directly. If you are staying for longer than a couple of nights, we recommend you rent a car. It's the easiest way to get around, especially if you plan to spend any time in Charleston!

1 or 2 Bedroom Villas / Kiawah Island Resort

We have reserved a room block for 1 & 2 Bedroom Scenic View Villas. The following rates are available Wed 4/20 – Tues 4/26 and require a two-night minimum stay. One Bedroom Scenic View Villas – $205.00/night Two Bedroom Scenic View Villas – $279.00/night *Plus 13% tax and 9% resort fee **Resort fee includes on-island transportation from 7AM – 11PM to resort-owned venues, access to two pools, complimentary internet, and self-parking. To book, please call 1-800-654-2924, request the reservations department, and identify yourself as being with the Tortoreti-Colosimo Wedding. YOU MUST CALL IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE DISCOUNTED RATES. The room block rates are guaranteed and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the room block is satisfied, you will need to reserve at the best price available (with a 10% discount that is provided by using our names).

Additional Accommodation Options

The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island The hotel on the island is available to book at a 10% discounted rate using our name (Tortoreti-Colosimo Wedding) or booking code: 18640. The Andell Inn at Kiawah Island This hotel is located just outside the gates of Kiawah Island and is another option should anyone feel strongly about staying in a hotel. We felt it was too cost-prohibitive to do a room block there, so encourage you to use the villa room block we provided – but the option is there if you want it!

Getting Home

If you are NOT renting a car, getting back to the airport is a little tricky. Here is what has been recommended to us: 🚗Uber: As mentioned above, Ubers ARE allowed on the island, but because there is not a ton of traffic there, they are not readily available. Your best bet is to schedule it ahead of time and give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport. 🚕Taxi: Book a taxi in advance using Charleston Taxi Service: https://charlestontaxiservice.com (Sprinter van for 10 - 12 people — $180; Minivan for 1 - 6 people — $110). Book in advance! 🚐Kiawah Island Transportation: If you are staying at a villa or home booked directly through the resort, you can book transport through the resort. Please call the Kiawah Villa Concierge at 843-768-2790. If you are staying at The Sanctuary Hotel, please contact The Sanctuary Concierge at 843-768-6251. (Van for 1 - 3 passengers — $150 and $50 for each additional person; private sedan for 1 -2 people — $165; SUV for up to 4 people — $225).

Bike Rentals

Bikes are the easiest way to get around the island! Bikes are easy, cheap, and convenient.. and the best way to explore. If you booked through the island, you will be prompted to to this by the reservations department. If not, you'll need to reach out to your rental company to see what your option are. Please note, if you booked through the island, you'll have access to on-island shuttles as well. If you did not, you will not!
