Just one ceremony on Sunday 11/14/21. We were fortunate enough to have a "semi-elopement" ceremony back in March with a small group of friends. We are looking forward to celebrating our Indian Wedding with the rest of our family and friends!
The Baraat is an event before the wedding ceremony celebrating the arrival of the Groom to the wedding venue. There will be music, dancing, and a live drum player leading Varun to the ceremony. We welcome everyone to join in on the fun!
You can wear Indian attire or American attire to the ceremony and reception. Typically we've seen that guests will wear Indian attire to the ceremony, and in the evening change into an American formal dress for the ladies, or a suit for the gentleman. But there are NO RULES. You can certainly bring one outfit for the entire day. If you want to wear Indian attire but don’t know where to start, here’s some guidelines: Ladies: Lehengas, Sarees, Salwar Kameez, or just wear a bright colored dress. Guys: a colored Kurta in the afternoon, and a Suit in the evening. Avoid wearing red and white since those colors are for the bride and groom.
As much as we’d love to accommodate plus ones, we need to reserve space for family and friends traveling from far away. If you’d like to bring a date, please let us know, and will try our best to accommodate after all guests have RSVP’ed.
Yes. If you’re interested in babysitting services, let us know and we can help you arrange.
We recommend Embassy Suites Sarasota, or Aloft Sarasota - both are in the downtown SRQ area. We also recommend looking at Airbnbs.
The Ritz Carlton parking is valet only, and will cost $14 per car.
This is up to you! Sarasota has Uber and Lyft if you choose not to rent a car. If you’re staying in Downtown SRQ, the area is very walkable. Uber and Lyft rides to the beach & surrounding areas will be inexpensive from here. If you're staying outside the downtown area, we recommend renting a car for your convenience.
