If asked, the Baltimore locals will tell you that the city is undergoing a renaissance. For us, Baltimore is the city where we met and fell in love. Sarah had recently moved to Baltimore from Seattle. Sherwin had been in Baltimore for just over a year. Unexpectedly, a historic blizzard, aptly described as "snowmageddon," shut down the city with over 30 inches of snow. Nevertheless, despite the heaps of snow that blanketed the city, we met over drinks at a pizza bar in the hipster haven of Hampden. Two things became evident after that chance meeting: (1) Sarah was quickly taken with Sherwin's smile; and (2) there are countless better options for good conversation than tough, gristly bruschetta. The city of Baltimore treated us well with lots of charming historical buildings and restaurants. However, during a visit to Sarah's family in Tacoma, Sarah took Sherwin to Sunnyside beach in Steilacoom and then for a pleasant walkabout around Chambers Bay. It was that same breathtaking view of the Sound, that will serve as the backdrop on our wedding day. Soon after that visit, Sarah convinced Sherwin to move west to Portland, Oregon. As the saying goes "Go west, young man." Since that move west, we have spent nearly two years in Portland where we have bought a house and merged our little family of 2 dogs and a cat. We are blessed to have found each other, and we look forward to sharing our wedding with our family and friends.
