Winter break, senior year, Michaela had all intentions of packing up her house on Euclid and leaving Syracuse behind to move back home to Massachusetts. However, that very first weekend back on campus after, she met Paul. She never did move back home, the rest was history. To our families, without whom we would be nothing and no one. We do not have the words to thank you for your eternal love and unwavering support. We love you endlessly.
After months of planning for a secret trip, I found out the morning we were to leave that we were headed to my favorite beach, York Beach, Maine. Bright and early the second day at the beach, Paul woke me up under the guise of digging for sand dollars. Still in pajamas and no makeup on we made our way to the beach at sunrise. To my surprise, I found Paul on one knee and not a single sand dollar. There was a giant rock though. The surprises didn't end there. Paul had coordinated an engagement photoshoot for later that same day. After a few days at the beach, we made our way to NA where we were showered with love by my family. The celebration continued when we returned to Syracuse, we were showered with love by Paul's family. It was the ideal getaway to the ideal place.
