The Wedding Website of Sandra Hillen and Michaela Sakumura
We CANNOT WAIT to see you all in one of our favorite places on Earth! Unless you plan on exploring in Puerto Vallarta first, you'll want to go straight north to Sayulita. Sayulita is about 45-60 minutes north of the airport along the coast and we definitely recommend the bus, Uber or a taxi to get up there. - Given the current state of things, we highly suggest you CHECK CANCELATION AND REBOOKING POLICIES, we'd hate for anyone to spend unnecessarily. - Wouldn't suggest renting a car - the roads in town are narrow and hard to navigate and unless your rental has dedicated parking it can be a challenge. - In town you should be able to walk most everywhere but a golf cart rental is a fun and efficient way to get around and explore! If you have any questions read below! It should cover all your inquiries.

Flight

Puerto Vallarta International Airport

You'll want to book flights to/from Puerto Vallarta, or airport code PVR. Most major airlines, including Southwest, fly here. The wedding is on a FRIDAY, early evening, so keep that in mind when you're booking travel. We recommend arriving by Thursday if possible but you're welcome to come as many days before or stay as many days after as you like! Make a vacation of it!

Travel Note

Getting to Sayulita from Puerto Vallarta

- Public Bus: By far your cheapest option, usually about $3 USD/person. Go outside customs, up and over the highway just outside the airport on the pedestrian bridge. Buses randomly stop there, look for one with Sayulita written in shoe polish on the front windshield and jump in for an adventure! There won't be AC so dress accordingly. Also at least some rudimentary Spanish strongly encouraged. - Uber: It's freaking 2020, of course Mexico has Uber, and it's hella awesome. Look to spend about $20 USD to get dropped off right where you need to go. This will be your most efficient option. Taxi cab: Generally runs about $50 USD, there will be several cab companies right outside the door from customs, you can't miss them.

House Or Rental

Sayulita

Sayulita, Nay., Mexico

There are tons of amazing options for rentals around town. Sayulita is a small surf town and most of the activities will be within close walking distance of the main town plaza. If air conditioning is a deal breaker for you, make sure you select that filter. We recommend staying close to the plaza - the center of town - but if something farther steals your heart are plenty of golf cart rentals available! Click "VIEW" below for an AirBnb link.
