Really cool art museum with indoor and outdoor sculptures and art. Admission is free.
Another great free museum where Chitakone and I use to go on dates in college.
Another great free museum
Great for lunch, dinner, or late night drinks. Has a rooftop and the inside is a restored newspaper factory.
Right next to the Raleigh Times. Coffee shop with some breakfast items.
North Carolina styled BBQ. All their food is great and there is a chocolate factory right across the street
Yes an actual chocolate factory… they have great chocolate that they make there. If you are lucky you can catch them making some in the back. They also have ice cream and drinks. Across the street from The Pit bbq
If you want to try some delicious vegan food, this is your place to go.
A huge farmers market to get see what NC has to offer. You can get fruits and veggies or go inside one of the buildings to get NC made lotions, soaps, and other souvenirs. They also sell food, such as cake and pies, lemonade, and their amazing fried seafood (drool) in NC sized portions. The seafood is in a to go container and you just pick a seat at an indoor or out door picnic table. There is also a sit down restaurant on the grounds that is delicious.
I mean chicken and waffles… yum
For all you coffee lovers, head over to Counter Culture where they roast their own coffee. A lot of small coffee shops in DC source their coffee from here so go visit the OG location in Durham.
Another one for the coffee lovers that have trekked to Durham. This coffee shop also roast their own coffee and have their own brand (little waves). They also offer small bites and churros. This location is located in an area that has a ton of food options and a food hall down the road. As well as the Durham farmers market. See the other activists for more details.
A historic burger place that has been around since 1942. Closed on Sundays… sad But if you are around earlier in the week a good place to stop by. Only outdoor seating so if it’s too hot maybe pass.
One of many awesome breweries in Durham.
Durham’s very own food hall. Enjoy food and drinks inside or on the patios. Close to the farmers market area and Cacao Cinnamon coffee shop.
Raleigh brewery with awesome beer (we are having one of their beers at the wedding). You can also get some pizza while drinking a refreshing beer.
Best donut in Durham, if you are already in Durham I would recommended stopping by for a donut. You won’t be blessed with a donut my dad, he is a baker here, has made but they are still delicious. Closed Sunday’s and Monday’s
Another delicious bbq place, but located in Durham. Closed on Sunday’s and Monday’s
