He was an NC State boy and I was a Meredith girl and like many before the rest writes itself. His high school friend was suite mates with my "big" sis and biology friend. We met through them and the rest was history. We had our first date at the NC Museum of Art where Quito walked around and explained the history of the different pieces. We then went out for a Cookout tray, because we were poor college kids. We had a wonderful time hanging out and nerding out on history.
We started "official dating" on November 1st, 2015. We were both able to go to each others college graduation. Quito moved to DC for law school and I moved to Carborro to work at UNC. After a year of long distance I moved to DC in 2016. We have lived in the DMV since then exploring the Virginia and Maryland along the way. We have made great memories together with even better friends. We have gone through graduate school and celebrated more graduations together. It has been nothing short of amazing. Here is to forever together.
We went to Puerto Rico to celebrate Quito's 30th birthday. On our first day there we went to the rain forest to check out the waterfalls and nature. We found a small secluded waterfall. Quito wanted to give me my "Valentines Day" gift so I closed my eyes and when I opened them he was on one knee. I was smiling from ear to ear and screamed "YES"! We enjoyed the rest of our trip as a newly engaged couple.
