On our first day in Ireland, we explored a bit of Dublin for the day. Our first stop— Trinity College’s famous ‘Long Room’.
After touring Trinity and making our way around Dublin on foot, we stopped in at The Temple Bar Pub for lunch. A well known pub, it may be worth visiting.
This farm is just a couple minutes drive from Barberstown. They offer a little something for everyone and we greatly enjoyed our time there.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to golf this time around. It’s still worth mentioning that there are numerous courses near Barberstown. Chek them out and give us a recommendation instead.
The Rock of Cashel was our first stop on our drive from Barberstown out towards Ireland’s western coast. Pictures don’t do it justice.
During our first full day along Ireland’s west coast, we took a hike up Mount Brandon. For those who want a slightly challenging hike with the promise of a great view, this may be worth checking out.
Every vacation needs a spa day and we had ours while visiting Dingle.
If you’re a huge fan of seafood then Out of the Blue in Dingle comes highly recommended. You will need a reservation!
Because no trip to Ireland would be complete without a stop at the Cliffs of Moher.
Another great restaurant worth mentioning. You will also need a reservation here!
Were we “good” at this? No. Did we “have fun”? Probably.
We booked this experience through airbnb and had a blast. As a bonus, we took home two loaves of bread and quite a few scones— breakfast for the next couple of days.
Our trip ended with a two day stay on the largest of the Aran Islands. We were able to rent bikes and cover a lot of ground. There are very few cars on the islands so a bike rental is highly recommended.
The Aran Islands have many of these curved, cliff top forts that you can explore. They offer incredible views and are worth the bike ride/hike.
While we aren’t scuba certified, we were able to take a course through the Dive Academy that allowed us to explore the equipment and main bay of the island.
