Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Samantha Bowie and Amir Bassiri
We hope that our guests have the time to check out Saugerties and the surrounding area while they are here. While we have both visited and enjoy Saugerties, Samantha first came to love Saugerties when her father moved here when she was a child. For her, the town is filled with happy childhood memories. We can't wait for you to make some of your own with us and your loved ones during our wedding weekend!

Ohana Café

117 Partition Street, Saugerties, NY 12477
, (845) 217-5750

Great breakfast or lunch spot! The crepes come highly recommended by the maid of honor.

The Dutch

253 Main Street, Saugerties, NY 12477
, (845) 247-2337

Great food and lots of local beers!

Inquiring Mind Bookstore & Cafe

200 Main Street, Saugerties, NY 12477
, (845) 246-5775

Samantha, her sister/Maid of Honor Shawn and their father love to wander around this cool bookstore. It also has an amazing coffee shop inside.

Krause's Chocolates

41 South Partition Street, Saugerties, NY 12477
, (845) 246-8377

This candy shop is located right next to Diamond Mills hotel and makes delicious homemade candies and chocolates. Samantha's father and stepmother often bought her holiday candy from Krause's when she was a child.

Woodstock

Woodstock, NY

Samantha and Amir love Woodstock and took one of their first weekend trips together there. There are lots of great places to eat, shops to check out and amazing hiking trails. The town is about a 20 minute drive from Saugerties.

SILVIA

42 Mill Hill Road, Woodstock, NY 12498
, (845) 679-4242

If you do decide to check out Woodstock, we encourage you to eat here. We had dinner here when Amir's parents were visiting New York and it was absolutely amazing.

Opus 40

356 George Sickle Road, Saugerties, NY 12477
, (845) 246-3400

Opus 40 is a sculpture park created by artist Harvey Fite nearly 40 years ago. Fite hand-sculpted Opus 40 over nearly four decades, entirely from bluestone harvested on site, fusing the legacy of local quarrying and ancient Mayan and Aztec stonework learned through his international travels. He framed his stonework sculpture with the surrounding woods, grasslands and mountains, ensuring the natural wonders of the local ecosystem would always be central to the impact of this Natural Historic Registered site. The photo above was taken at Opus 40 while we were in the area for a wedding in 2019.
