Ryan and I met in September 2021 on the dating app, Hinge. I was initially very opposed to meeting someone through a dating app because I honestly didn't think that I would find a good Christian man through that means, until I met Ryan. Our first date was truly unforgettable. From discovering that Ryan and I had both grown up in the United Methodist Church to learning something as silly as our shared love for Mateos salsa, I knew almost immediately that I had found the person with whom I would spend the rest of my life. At the end of our date, I got in the car and immediately called my best friend to tell her that I had met my husband...and the rest is history!
Almost 9 months later to the day, Ryan asked if I wanted to recreate our first date, and I immediately said yes. I began to wonder if something else was going on when he wanted to stop by his family home in Germantown prior to going to dinner. This home is very special to Ryan and his family, and he had taken me by it in the past, telling me stories of all of the wonderful memories that he had made with his family in this home. It had recently been sold and converted into an event venue, and, as we approached the front porch of the home, we noticed that a wedding was taking place. When I turned around to walk away, Ryan was on down on one knee with his family hiding in the bushes to capture photos of our special moment. We then walked across the street to take pictures on the steps of the United Methodist Church where Ryan's family grew up. While walking over, we ran into the preacher who prayed his blessing over us and our future marriage. It was truly the most special day that we will both remember forever.
