The San Diego Airport is about a 25-minute drive from our wedding venue in La Jolla. This usually equates to about a $30 Uber or Lyft trip (based on the time that you land and “surge” fares).

Inn by the Sea La Jolla

Our wedding block is at the Inn by the Sea La Jolla, which offers a more cost-effective option than our wedding venue hotel. The Inn by the Sea is only 2.5 blocks to the ocean, a 9-minute walk to our wedding venue, and within walking distance to many restaurants, museums, and shops. Standard rooms are discounted at $179/night + tax, and Ocean View rooms at $269/night + tax. These discounted rates will be available for the entire length of your stay (+/- one week) if you are making a vacation out of your visit. These rates cannot be accessed online, so please call to make your reservation at (800) 526-4545. When calling to make your reservation and to specify your room preferences, please mention the Newman/Hanke Wedding in order to receive the discounted rate. Please note that this block will be secured through October 1, 2024 and rooms with a view of the ocean book out quickly, so please book as soon as possible if you wish to stay at the Inn by the Sea!

La Jolla Cove Hotel & Suites

Our wedding will be on the rooftop of the La Jolla Cove Hotel & Suites. This hotel will definitely be the closest and easiest option to get to the party! With ocean views directly across the street from the cove, modern features, and a swimming pool, you can make a vacation out of your trip to San Diego with a stay at the La Jolla Cove Suites. The “Pines” rooms have all been recently updated and have oceanfront views. We’ll be staying here over our wedding weekend :)

Additional Hotel Options

Using the "View" button below, please visit our Hotel Booking link for specially negotiated group rates of hotels near our wedding venue. These are special group rates that are not available to the general public or through hotel websites. We especially recommend some of these nearby hotels: - Paintai Inn: We have stayed at the Pantai Inn several times and have loved it! This is only a 2- to 3-minute walk from our wedding venue and is right across from the ocean. The Pantai is a nice option if you are interested in staying with friends or family, as the suites have multiple rooms, living room areas, and a kitchen. - Cormorant Hotel: The cormorant is about 5-minutes walking distance from our hotel venue and offers new rooms and a rooftop bar. This boutique hotel gives all the La Jolla views and the total experience. - Empress La Jolla: The empress is in central La Jolla and is nearby to just about everything the downtown area has to offer. About a 10-minute walk to our wedding venue, the Empress offers some lower cost options than other nearby hotels that sit right on the water. - Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection: This hotel is about a 5- to 10-minute drive (depending on traffic) from our wedding venue, but only a short walk to the La Jolla beaches where you can rent kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, or snorkel gear.

Air BnB or VRBO

There are several Air BnB or VRBO options in La Jolla and surrounding neighborhoods! Some nearby areas that would be only a short car ride away include: Bird Rock, Pacific Beach, Torrey Pines, or Bay Ho. Other nice areas a bit farther away (20-30 minute car ride) include: Del Mar, Clairemont, Ocean Beach/Sunset Cliffs, Mission Beach, Point Loma, or North Park.
