Travel Details

Below you'll find information on our hotel blocks, as well as directions to the area! Red Maple Vineyard is in the Hudson Valley which is approximately 2 hours from NYC. Bus transportation will be provided to and from all hotels we have room blocks with and Red Maple Vineyard. In order to get to and from the hotels and Red Maple Vineyard, guests should plan to either take our coach buses or drive. It will likely be difficult to call an Uber late at night from Red Maple Vineyard. However for getting around the area, to/from hotels, the Sunday brunch and the Poughkeepsie train station, it should be easy to call an Uber. For guests arriving and departing via train, it is not necessary to rent a car. For guests that want to explore the Hudson Valley, having a car would be helpful, but Ubers can get you where you want to go. Anyone with any travel related questions is welcome to contact Russell and he would be excited to offer advice!

Train

Taking The Train

Both Amtrak (from Penn Station) and Metro North (from Grand Central) offer frequent departures from NYC to Poughkeepsie and the train ride is roughly 2 hours. From Poughkeepsie station, it is an easy ~10 minute Uber to all hotels. Amtrak tickets must be reserved in advance and trains frequently sell out in the summer. Metro North offers more departure times, flexibility and is slightly cheaper. You cannot book Metro North tickets in advance.

Flight

Flying

For guests flying for the wedding, feel free to reach out to Russell and he will be happy to advise on what makes the most sense to get to/from the wedding. Both Stewart Airport (SWF) and Westchester County Airport (HPN) are within a 1-hour drive from the wedding, but both airports have very limited flights, so you will likely be flying to/from one of the major NYC Airports (Newark, LaGuardia, JFK). For guests that want to head straight to Iceland after the wedding, Stewart Airport very randomly has an airline that flies directly there! It is possible to fly in and then take the train to our wedding, but for those flying, we'd recommend renting a car and driving from the airport. Newark and LaGuardia will be the most convenient options. JFK is also doable, but drive time will be longer getting in and out of NYC.
