We met on the first day of eleventh grade at Augusta High School, where Jamie had gone since kindergarten. By a chance of fate, I had moved the Summer before and was starting school at Augusta that Fall. We started the day with a brief introduction, but it was a small school and we had most of our classes together. By the end of the day he was walking me to my next class. After that day, we were close friends. Until March 3rd, 2014 when he asked me to be his girlfriend after lunch at school. We spent most of our free time together after that, going to two proms, and even sitting together for our high school graduation.

Each year on our anniversary, which happens to be the day before Jamie's birthday, we like to take a trip together. Our 2021 trip was to Snowriver Resort where we planned to go snowboarding and hiking. We hiked along the Presque Isle River through the snow, enjoying the sounds and sights of the forest. When we got to Manido Falls I took out my phone and set it up to take a picture on a timer. As the timer went off, Jamie got down on one knee and held out the ring. Of course, I said yes!
