We met in a sudden daytime rain shower. Robert was walking home from work, and Emily was driving by. She stopped and asked if he needed a ride (to get out of the rain) and he got in. After that we parted ways still strangers, until we saw each other again at an impromptu midnight pool party where we knew all the same people—but still not each other. Once again, we had a great time chatting and then parted ways without exchanging any information. It wasn’t until Summer of 2015 that we spotted each other on Facebook and Emily made the first move to ask Robert out! We dated and split up and then were just friends for a while, until one day in 2019 we decided to settle down and get serious. We got through Covid together and a cross-country move to Florida with our hoard of fur babies and can’t wait for what our combined future now holds.

Robert planned the entire weekend as a surprise. He booked an ocean-view room at a historic Rum Runner hotel in an adorable seaside town near our Florida home, where we were greeted with cocktails on the rooftop. As the sun set over the ocean, Robert asked Emily to join him in forever-after and she said YES! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Dallas!
