One of our favorite places to go hiking. The best part about it is that it's right in town. Look out for the Gila monsters and crested saguaros.
If you rent a car and have time, we highly suggest this hour long drive up to the top of the highest point in the Catalina Mountains. Watch as the saguaros become grasslands, which become forests of pine trees. It's the southern-most ski mountain in the US. If you head up there, we highly suggest grabbing a slice of pizza at Bear Canyon Pizza on the way back into town.
Check out the east side for a casual driving loop and head to the west if you're feeling wild. We will be getting married on the edge of this picturesque and wanderlust national park.
Where we met. Need we say more? Enjoy a cold beverage in the outdoor beer garden. Ride your bike here for the full experience.
If you're craving the best quesadilla in Tucson... This is the original location (and our favorite), but there are a couple others around town too.
If you're craving the bests tacos in Tucson... take a walk down 4th Avenue for a bonus adventure.
Some of the best coffee in Tucson. Pair this with a trip to the O.G. Seis and check out the delicious Mexican bakery, La Estrella at the Mercado.
In the historic Hotel Congress in downtown Tucson. A great place for an outdoor dinner (bonus if there's live music) and a fantastic Tucson brunch spot!
Upscale Mexican restaurant. Don't miss the serious Brussels or the mussels borrachos.
Downtown pizza with plenty of outdoor seating. If you go to this location, be sure to check out the speakeasy in the basement (Tough Luck Club). There is also a newer location on the northwest side of town (closer to the hotels and venue) at Ina and Oracle. If you go to that location, get your food to-go and enjoy it next door at Tap and Bottle North, where you will find an awesome selection of beverages.
Believe it or not, we can grow grapes here (~1 hour away). And the wine is delicious (especially the tempranillos)! If you have time for a day trip, this is a good one. Start with Rune Wines and Deep Sky (our favorites) and go from there. Arizona Hops and Vines is another good spot (and they have a petting zoo) with a meadery next door.
They know how to brunch.
Discovered in 1974 by two University of Arizona students and kept a secret until 1978, these caves are now protected by Arizona State Parks. Tours are available to see parts of these caves, but they remain some of the most untouched in the world. The Kartchner Caverns are a 1 hour drive from Tucson.
For all of our cigar smokers out there...
Visit Tucson has everything you need to know.
