Best Man
Dustin met Brandon through their mutual friend, AEPi. As more and more people these days are saying, they are well known as the most successful Big Brother-Little Brother pairing in fraternity history. They lived together for three years in college where Brandon officially (according to himself) served as Consigliere during Dustin's time as Chapter President, which basically just meant that all fraternity functions could be scheduled around CU football games. Brandon knew that Dustin would be his Best Man at his wedding long before he knew that he was going to be marrying Claire.
Groomsman
Brandon met Ryan through their mutual friend, AEPi. Ryan and Brandon lived together for two years in college, including during the summers. They bonded over their mutual love of sports and watching Brandon watch Kangaroo Jack and one day hope to retire to adjoining cottages in a little slice of paradise known as Benihana Village. Groomsman
Nick and Brandon met through their mutual love of educating and coaching the youths of Holly Springs, NC. They both shared the opinion that school (work) should be a place to have fun. They quickly became great friends and enjoyed doing completely non-work related things during planning periods and traversing the state to go to different high school sporting events. Don't worry, they didn't only do cool sports stuff, they also played a lot of board games and loved talking about the latest absurd or awesome thing their favorite (or least favorite) students had done. Unfortunately, Nick passed away after a two-year battle with cancer in June, 2018 and though he will not physically be up there during the ceremony, Brandon is still thrilled to have him as a groomsman and as a part of the day.
Groomsman
Brandon met Max through Claire, Max's sister. Once they're officially brothers after the wedding, Brandon and Max are excited to open up their own electronics repair business. Brandon and Max enjoy hanging out with Ruzar and making sarcastic remarks together. Max is Ruzar's godfather, and if Brandon trusts Max with Ruzar after giving him only four pages of instructions, well...enough said.
Groomsman
Brandon and Jason met through their mutual friend, AEPi. Jason was one of Brandon's first friends at UNC, and brought him some soup when Brandon was bedridden with mono for what seemed like years (it probably wasn't). Jason not only brought Brandon soup, but he even signed Brandon into class when Brandon could not get to campus by the ungodly hour of 10am. True friendship. Brandon still refuses to apologize for missing class, but he is sorry for missing Biscuit Time. After college, Brandon and Jason lived together for three years, where fortunately for Claire, Jason's stellar taste in tv shows rubbed off on Brandon. Brandon would never put Jason on the block, even as a pawn.
Matron of Honor
Liz is Claire's self-proclaimed cool aunt. They met through their mutual friend, Tamara - Liz’s sister and Claire’s mom. Their shared love of ambien and commiserating about the Panthers has brought them closer throughout the years. Additionally, Liz taught Claire almost everything she knows about maximizing efficiency at brunch buffets, the importance of which cannot be understated. Though the exact number isn’t known, the pair has saved an estimated one bajillion turtles by walking in the South Carolina Aquarium’s 2017 Annual Turtle Run.
Maid of Honor
Claire and Olivia met when Olivia was born, in mid-1993. They have been cousins ever since. Their favorite childhood game was pretending to be twins named Blair and Claire, though they have since learned that twins names’ do not have to rhyme, even though they obviously should. Fall Out Boy and Will Farrell movies were, and continue to be, extremely formative for them. Olivia and Claire share many similar anxieties about literally everything and a fondness for early reality television.
Bridesmaid
Claire and Lizzy met when they roomed together freshman year at NC State. They became so immediately inseparable that some people called them “difficult to be around.” Those people are no longer in the picture because Claire and Lizzy don’t have time for haters. Too many deadlines. They have travelled together extensively to such illustrious drinking destinations as Mexico, Ireland, and Epcot.
Bridesmaid
Claire and Bella met as students at Charlotte Latin School. Bella only betrayed Claire once in fourth grade, which Claire brings up, like, once a week. Claire has offered to physically fight every one of Bella’s love interests and is probably the worst wing-woman of all time so it’s pretty chill of Bella to hang out with her anyway. They survived high school, beach week, and the Czech Republic together, though they were only able to make it through 30 minutes of Magic Mike 2. Obviously, Brandon was the last person to know that Claire was interested in him, and Bella was the first.
Bridesmaid
Claire met Brandon's sister, Julia, through Brandon. Their mutual love of money (or helping people or whatever) led them to the lucrative field of social work, a profession which they both describe as having, if anything, too many resources. They are both long-time vegetarians who have finally accepted there will never be anything for them to eat at cookouts. Julia is a lover of musicals and Claire is, though not a fan of musicals, willing to admit that Hamilton was not overrated after all. Claire is very much looking forward to having Julia as a sister, though she plans only to visit Julia in Wisconsin in the summer because she’s not about that Midwest winter.
