Flight
The nearest airports are: Florence, Pisa, & Bologna. Although farther away, flying into Rome or Venice and taking a train to Florence is another great option (might be cheaper!) We are using the Hopper app to track our flight and get the best deal!
Shuttle

We will be providing transportation from Florence to the Castle on Tuesday May 13th. There will be a very strict pick up window that you must meet in order to take advantage of this. Please check your email for details after you RSVP. We will also coordinate a group shuttle to take guests back to Florence on May 16th @ 11am.
Rental Car
Castello di Ristonchi is 35Km from Florence city center. (Around a 45 minute drive). A rental car is the easiest and cheapest way to get around Tuscany. Carpool if you can! There is free onsite parking for all guests.
Train
The closest train station to the Castello is Pontassieve, which can be reached from any major city in Italy. You can take the train to Pontassieve (30 mins from Florence/2 hours from Pisa/1 hours from Bologna/2.5 hours from Milan/Rome/Venice). Once you're at Pontassieve train station, you can also take the Bus 343 A Saltino Centro up the mountain and get off at stop ‘Paterno_V’ in Pelago (15 mins) and coordinate pick up from there or if you want the steps, you can take a beautiful forest walk to the castle (30 mins walk from bus stop). Travel Note
The EU is implementing a travel authorization for entry in 2025. A date for this has not been released at this time. The process appears to be quick and easy from what we have read online, however it does say to apply early in case additional information is needed to grant authorization. Again, this NOT a requirement as of now but we wanted to include the link for more information and to stay up to date.
