Flight
We recommend flying direct to Nantucket (30 min in air). From NYC, Delta and JetBlue fly to Nantucket. From BOS, JetBlue or CapeAir flies to Nantucket. If you are agnostic to NYC or BOS, please consider Boston as your gateway city since it is easier to plan for potential airport delays due to inclement weather. If you need to change your plans quickly, you are only an hour drive from Boston to the Hyannis Ferry terminal that will take you into Nantucket.
Travel Note
There are 2 ferry companies: The Steamship Authority and Hy-Line Cruises. Both companies have traditional vessels (2.5-hour crossing) and high speed Catamarans (1-hour crossing). Please see 'www.hy-linecruises.com' and 'www.steamshipauthority.com' for additional details
Travel Note
We recommend flying, but if you love the water or are with a big group, the ferry from NYC is a good option. You can catch the ferry either from East 30th Street, or drive up to New Bedford MA.
Hotel
There are no large hotel chains in Nantucket, but there are plenty of Bed and Breakfasts. Otherwise, we recommend using Airbnb, HomeAway, or VRBO to find a house. Regardless of hotel or house, we recommend staying anywhere in/near town.
