Even if its not beach weather, highly recommend taking a walk to Steps Beach through Cliff Road. Steps Beach is one of the prettiest beaches on Nantucket! There are, as the name suggests, many steps that you must walk down in order to get to the beach.
Watch the sun set over Nantucket Sound at the Madaket Beach. It’s a few miles from town, so either ride your bike or arrange a ride. While out there, try your luck getting into Millie’s – adjacent to Madaket Beach – a sand-in-your-toes elevated lobster shack for great seafood and sunsets.
One of the best ways to tour Nantucket is by bicycle. The island is only 14 miles long by 3.5 miles wide. Trips can be made from town to several beaches, to the village of 'Sconset on the eastern shore, and Madaket on the island's western tip. Young’s Bicycle Shop is “The Cycle-Logical Way to See Nantucket Island.” They also offer affordable jeep rentals.
Gail Nickerson Johnson -- a seventh-generation native whose mother started a tour business back in the 1940s -- has the inside track. Gail knows Nantucket! She offers a unique, in-depth tour of the island and we highly recommend Gail’s Tours to give you the most of Nantucket in the shortest amount of time. Tours in her comfortable, air-conditioned Mercedes van depart from the Visitor’s Center (Centre Street) and departure times are 10am, 1pm, and 3pm daily. Gails Tours 508.257.6557
The Sconset Bluff Walk is a beautiful walking trail along a bluff overlooking the water in Sconset. It is a small dirt path that travels through the flower-filled backyards of many Sconset homes.

In town spot for breakfast pastries or to-go sandwiches before a beach adventure.
For anyone looking for an low key sandwich lunch on Saturday before the ceremony, Something Natural fits the bill. Delicious veggie-filled sandwiches on homemade bread.
