Piney River Ranch

One of Colorado's most breathtaking locations, Piney River Ranch is 15 miles/40 minutes from Vail. You can enjoy the views while hiking, horseback riding, canoeing or fishing. You will need a car to access.

Zip Adventures of Vail

Like thrill? At Zip Adventures you'll catch some breathtaking views while zip lining over various canyons. You will need a car to access.

Eagle Bahn Gondola

Take the Eagle Bahn Gondola from Lionshead to +10,000 feet. Enjoy walking trails, breathtaking photo opportunities and a burger and a beer. Feeling ambitions? Rather than taking the Gondola down, you can hike down to the base. This should take ~2 hours. Feeling extra ambitious? Hike up the mountain and reward yourself with a beer and a free ride down the gondola. This should take ~3 hours. If hiking, please be mindful of the weather. Thunderstorms often approach quickly and without much warning. Be safe!

Explore Vail Village and Lionshead

Vail Village and Lionshead are Vail’s hubs for shopping, dining and galleries. The walk between Lionshead and Vail Village only takes 10-15 minutes, or there is a complimentary In-Town bus that runs regularly, all day long and well into the evening.

Hiking

Dining

There are fantastic dining options in Vail, but here are a couple of our favorites: Sweet Basil is located in the heart of Vail Village and is our favorite fine dining location. This is an ideal option for Colorado Lamb and a great wine list. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time! Mountain Standard is located along the Gore Creek in Vail Village and is a great casual option. You can enjoy a burger and a beer on the patio but is also a great location for evening drinks. Pepi's is centrally located in Vail Village. Pepi’s has a large outdoor patio and is a great spot for an afternoon beer and snack. In the evening, Pepi’s offers live entertainment and a menu with a European bent. Minturn Country Club is not exactly a country, but rather a unique CYO (cook your own) experience. Select your cut of meat and cook your selection over a large community grill (wine in hand of course)! Nestled in Minturn, (10 minutes west of Vail), you will need a car to access.
