It was a true Texas summer Friday night. It was relatively early in the evening and Deni was hanging out at his buddy’s apartment, also referred to as the “spot”. Chris was always generous enough to host all the get-togethers/parties at his place, and this Friday night wasn't any different. Chris had told Deni “I have two girls coming over.. and I think you’ll like one of them for sure”.. “she seems like your type”. Deni’s interest peaked, but he decided to play it cool.. “alright sounds good bro”, Deni responds. Since it was relatively early, maybe around 9 pm in the night, Chris decided to hop in the shower before they came (yes, I know what you're thinking, but in college life this is considered early). 5 minutes later there was a knock at the door. Deni thought it was the pizza man, but it turned out to be the two girls - Val and Gabi. (For reference, Gabi is Val's best friend and Gabi worked with Chris at the time). You see, Chris did not tell the girls that Deni would be opening the door, and Deni did not expect them so early.. therefore the entire situation was, as you can imagine, awkward to say the least. Trying to break the awkward silence, Deni asked the two girls if they wanted to play halo 3 (a move made in desperation). While Deni thought he was doomed to be labeled as a nerd for even asking, to Deni’s surprise, they both seemed ecstatic to play. Deni was secretly beaming with joy on the inside.. not only was Val beautiful, but she also likes halo 3 #Winning. And well, Chris was right.. she’s his type. While playing halo, Deni was eating some cheap Domino's pasta dish, but he could sense a presence eyeing him and more importantly his pasta. Yes, it was Val. Val was staring not only at Deni, but at that pasta. Finally, Deni turned to Val and asked “do you want a bite?". To Deni's surprise Val said “of course”. Deni was immediately enamored with Val’s boldness, and beauty. And the rest is history….
