We're delighted to welcome our family and friends to Maryland this May for an intimate evening on the Chesapeake Bay at Swan Harbor Farm in Havre de Grace. Join us as we celebrate the start of our marriage in the best way we know—with good food, good drinks, and good people.
Much like many modern love stories, we met online. Both of us had recently started using Bumble and appreciated its unique spin on connecting people— the woman messages first. Accordingly, Don is quite proud...perhaps too proud(?) that he can brag Rhonda approached him first. After a bit of back and forth online, we decided to meet up at Honfest in Hampden, an annual neighborhood festival celebrating all things old school Baltimore. While an early summer storm had knocked out much of the power in Hampden that night, the connection between us was electric and here we are a few years later!
Poor Donald, sometimes a guy is just too blessed with smart, opinionated women. He had planned to propose to Rhonda during an annual Christmas light tradition in Hampden, Miracle on 34th Street. Unfortunately, the lights weren't scheduled to begin until Rhonda's family left Baltimore after Thanksgiving. Rhonda's mom suggested—less suggested more insisted— Don plan the proposal for Thanksgiving Eve instead, guaranteeing they would be in the area to celebrate. In an effort to make his future mother-in-law happy and get the girl, Don obliged and rearranged his plans. Per usual, that day the family was running behind and of course, nothing went as planned. Don, bound and determined to pop the question that night, pulled an unsuspecting Rhonda away from a late dinner so he could get down on one knee on 'the Avenue' in Hampden where they had their first date. After a bit of teasing from Rhonda, she said yes and they celebrated over champagne with the family.
