Go to the Beach

Go to the Beach

Fire Island is home to the island’s most beautiful beaches (in our biased opinions). Make sure to spend some time catching some sun or watching the waves with your toes in the sand. September is also our favorite time to go for a swim! You can’t miss it - located at the south end of all paths!

Take a Bike Ride

Kismet Inn

Kismet Inn

1 Oak Street, Fire Island, NY 11706
, (631) 583-5592

Ooooh the Kismet Inn, how we love you. Operating since 1925 by the beloved Cole family, the Inn holds a very special place in our hearts. Peter proposed to Renee on the roof here, but please don’t ask the bartender Steve for access to the rooftop bar ;) Although, he would love to serve you the coldest of Budweisers, if he’s not too busy in celebrations for his sister and new brother-in-law on this weekend. Stop in to try some dry rub chicken wings (Pete’s favorite), a Kismet coke (Fred’s favorite), or shoot some pool and play some tunes on the jukebox (a drunk Renee’s favorite).

Fire Island Lighthouse

Fire Island Lighthouse

Fire Island, NY 11706
, (631) 583-5901

If you are feeling adventurous, take a climb to the top of the lighthouse for incredible 360 degree views of Fire Island, Robert Moses, and Great South Bay. If you feel like staying on ground level, check out the Fresnel Lens Building for some history or take a walk down to the quiet bay beach for more beautiful views of the bay. The lighthouse is a 1 mile walk or bike ride from Kismet and is also accessible via Fire Island Pedicab.

Fire Island Tap

Fire Island Tap

177 Pine Street, Fire Island, NY 11706
, (631) 583-9463

Beach & Vine, a wine and spirits shop, and Fire Island Tap, a colorful Cafe, are two local sister shops that host a number of events throughout the summer and into the fall season. These include wine tastings, wine and cheese pairings, wine education, trivia and more. Visit their social media pages on Facebook and Instagram at @beachandvine and @fireislandtap for more information about events and scheduling!
