Matron of Honor
Sarah is only the person who has eaten off of Jamie's plate and lived. She is my older sister who introduced herself to Jamie by asking "Are you going to eat that?" and proceeding to stick her fork in Jamie's olive. At that moment, I knew he had passed the sister test (which is not easy to do).
Groomsman
Stuart may be technically my uncle but he is more like a best friend. He was my babysitter who spent our afternoons teaching Joel and I wrestling moves and how to break ornaments with a soccer ball (much to my mum's frustration). He was one of the first people I called after I proposed to Jessica.
Bridesmaid
Maria has been my longest lasting friendship, beginning when we were 5. She is the friend I use as an example when I talk about the importance of friendship to my students. I tell them how it is important to be loyal to your friends but also be able to talk to them about your differences. My class and I actually called her when she was in the hospital about to have Annie, and she graciously talked to my class while I cried happy tears.
Groomsman
Joel is my younger brother who I know is always up for a good time. When I asked him if he wanted to come to the Masters on a Wednesday, he was on a plane on Friday. I am glad he is able to be apart of my special day here in Greenwood.
Bridesmaid
Ashley, more commonly called Semsar, is my forever friend from Clemson. Our friendship bloomed my sophomore year when she was my RA on the TriDelt hall. I can always count on her for a late night chat and a couch to sleep on while in Charleston. I am lucky to be able to call her and her family friends.
Groomsman
John is like a father to me in Greenwood. He took me in and treated me like a son. John has provided me with advice, companionship, and a family when I needed it the most.
Bridesmaid
Burgess is my more fashionable friend who was my partner in crime in high school. We may not have gone to the same school together, ever, but we made up for it by phone calls, sleep overs, and poolside chats. She still is my partner in crime.
Groomsman
Chris became my American brother when John and Zeolean took me in. I appreciate the home cooked meals, the play time with his kids, and the friendship.
Bridesmaid
Caroline is another childhood friend who I could not picture getting married without her by my side when I marry Jamie. She was the first friend to tell me, "This ones different" when I started dating Jamie. She is supportive and I am lucky to be able to call her a close friend.
Groomsman
Wells is Jessica's brother who I am happy will be able to stand by my side when I marry his sister. Wells is Jessica's only brother and I appreciate his insight into my life with Jessica.
Bridesmaid
I do not call Jennifer, Jennifer. I call her Sneaks. There are conflicting stories of why that nickname came around but all stories are humorous. And thats her. She's going to make you laugh and when you are around her, everyone always has a good time. I am fortunate that she moved back to Greenville, so that our friendship could grow over the past few years.
Groomsman
Josh has been a friend, a boss, and now a groomsman. I am fortunate to still be living in America because of Josh. He was pivotal in me starting employment at Toros and without him I may be back in England. I can always count on Josh to attend any concert, no matter the performer (hello Elton John!).
Bridesmaid
Andie and I met as freshmen when we joined TriDelt sorority. Many of my college memories, include Andie and I getting into some mischief or late night gossips or vacations together. She moved to Nashville after college and I am thankful that the distance did not shorten our friendship.
Groomsman
Tomo is my best mate who I can always rely on to have my back, have a bevvie, and have a round of golf.
Bridesmaid
Katie is my teaching soul sister. Even though we only taught at the same school for 2 years, our friendship has grown over the past 9 years. I can rely on her for her advice, her trustworthiness, and her loyalty as a friend.
